One of the things Jud and I are proudest of when it comes to Blastoff is our podcast, which ran throughout 2017. We wanted our podcast to be just how we had envisioned the store and the website: steeped in comic-book history and emotionally relevant. All of these podcasts are the work of many hands: our guests, our producer Jeff Fox, our composer Derek Anthony Gray, our longtime Artist-in-Residence Elena Casagrande and of course Jud and me.
I was never the performer Jud is, but occasionally I came close. This episode, which recounts my relationship with my comics mentor Mark Gruenwald and features one of Jud’s best-written essays about the store, may be the best one we ever did.
