Our first FREE COMIC BOOK DAY in our North Hollywood home was a bigger success than we ever expected, and we’d like to thank everyone who helped make it happen.
First off, we’d like to thank everyone who came out to see us, pick up some free books, talk to our artists, pose for photos with our superheroes, and spend the day together celebrating comics. We were stunned and delighted at the crowds we continued to see all day, and hope you all enjoyed yourselves and plan on coming back to see us again soon.
Thanks to artist JK Woodward for being on the floor all day painting his fantastic “Cyber-Gorn,” which will soon be in the hands of the lucky winner.

And last but certainly not least, we’d like to thank our amazing superheroes Valerie Perez, Kelly Decambre, Emily Meredith Lewis, Thomas Parham, Jim Logan and Jessica Lynn Gonzales for spending the day with us, both in the shop and on the streets of North Hollywood spreading the word of Free Comic Book Day.
Honestly, it was such a great day, we’re not sure how we’re going to top it next year. But we’re sure gonna try.
Thanks for the comics Blastoff! It was the first time my daughter and I visited your store. We didn’t know you were in the neighborhood until I checked the comic shop locator on the Free Comic Book Day website. We’ll be heading back more often now that we know you’re so close. We love comics, my daughter had to physically drag me away from your sidewalk sale! Fantastic shop!
